Download this document Currently, MPC is in need of volunteers for these initiatives:

1. Large Group Fellowship Events:  Coming off from the high of the Gala last November,, the Council agreed that MPC needs to have more events where the whole community is gathered together.  These are not fund-raising events, but rather family-raising events where the family is MPC and we are the siblings.  This has been a weakness in our community that we have felt over the years and we hope to be able to address that with a whole variety of opportunities from movie nights, to special Sundays where we gather after church, to…you fill in the blank.  Becky Wood white_flute@hotmail.com and Miles Jones gmilesjones@mac.com will be co-chairing that committee and if you are interested with ideas or manning the committee then please send them an email.

2. Repatriation Service:  Did you know that from February – December 2009 through a program of the International Organization for Migration we sent home nearly 10 people a month who had been brought to Moscow with false hopes and false promises?  A week does not go by without us hearing in our work a personal story from a person who paid a large sum of money to come to Moscow on promises of playing soccer, or having a job lined up.  Once they arrive, they are abandoned, in extremely vulnerable situations, and left to fend for themselves.  Their primary desire is just to return home.  The IOM no longer has this program, but we would like to start a pilot project to see what MPC may be able to do with this most vulnerable of demographic groups here in Moscow.  Pastor Bob mpchaplaincy@gmail.com, Joseph Ndiraya joseph.ndiraya@yahoo.com, and Obinna Nwankwo nwankwo42@yahoo.com will head up that committee, but we are looking for quite a few good men and women to help us with this very important work.

3. Soup Kitchen drivers, distributors and servers: Do you have your own car or have a driver? Yes! - well this opportunity could be for you! MPC is loooking for 2 reliable volunteers to take over the regular duties of the Tuesday and Thursday metro runs. This involves driving to the Metro Cash and Carry to collect donated food and transporting it to MPC's soup kitchen. Once you are there, you'll be able to volunteer by serving meals to our pensioners at our Universitet soup kitchen on Thursdays or distributing food to the single mothers and refugees at our Kuznetsky Most soup kitchen on Tuesdays. If you're interested please contact Alyssha Allan (mpc.foodbank@gmail.com) or Daniel Ekat (ekatd@yahoo.com). You can also speak to our current volunteer Chris Beighle (chrisbeighle@msn.com) to find our what's involved.

Additionally, MPC is always in need of volunteers for various social programs across Moscow including two daily Soup Kitchen, a daily Parish Center, a bi-weekly Medical Clinic and several food sharing programs to alleviate the needs of the less fortunate.
